Use a 3/32" pin punch and remove the crosspin that holds the ejector assembly in place - take care as there is a spring under tension on the right hand side of the assembly. Remove the pin and the ejector, set them aside. 2.The safety on the SEC 9 pivots from the front of the safety so you have to push up and down on the rear of the lever to engage it. To put the safety on use your support hand because you're done shooting and it doesn't matter which hand you use. But it has a hammer, which in my opinion is a good thing. But the Security 9 is a very functional pistol. Accuracy is not quite as good as the American Pistol, but it is adequate. I like the trigger. I hate the sights, probably spend the $77 and get a proper set of steel sights from Ruger. I also hate the safety.

This being my first pistol I didn't know, I'd recently taken down a Glock and you had to pull that trigger. The same thing happened to me with a Stoeger shotgun, but neither owners manual mentions this. If you pulled the slide back with the pin out, you probably jammed it back further than it was intended to go, and it bound the barrel and the guide rod. Devil in the shade. Take the gun and Pull back the slide and start drying firing it. Then Push the slide forward while dry firing it a number of times. This should work. Also do the same procedure with a mag in. Keep trying this and it should release. This is a common issue. The First Round Fired is the most critical.

I bought the Security 9 yesterday and have not fired it, cleaned it, oiled it, or anything. I have, however, run four magazines through and every round hangs up. First, all firearms need cleaned before you do anything with them! Then, if you have an issue, such as feeding ammo, I'd immediately stop and determine the cause of the problem.
